This photograph is of Rebecca Gunter Noah, wife of Alexander Gillespie Noah, Sr.

Rebecca Gunter was born on December 4, 1824, in Lincoln County, Tennessee. She married A. G. Noah, Sr. on July 24, 1845, and in 1847 the family moved to Attala County, Mississippi.

Alexander Gillespie, Sr. and Rebecca Noah were the parents of David B. Noah, Pleasant D. Noah, Kate Noah (Mims / Golden), Betty Exdothula Noah (Ratliff), A. G. Noah, Jr., George M. Noah, and William McNulty Noah.

The following note concerning Recca Noah was written by Noah researcher: "...a tart little Scotswoman who lived to be almost a hundred. Her early death was caused by a slip on the ice and a broken hip." At the time of the 1900 Census, she was living in the home of her son, George Noah. She died on February 2, 1914, and is buried with her husband in the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery.

A. G. Noah, Sr. was born on 10 October 1827 and died 19 December 1897.
