Meta Stepp Ham Obituary
Meta Ham services held January 17. Funeral services for Mrs. Meta Mae Ham, 94, were held Sunday, January 17, at 3:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred L. Durham Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of McCrary Edwards-Can Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ham died Saturday, January 16, in Medical Center Hospital in Tyler after a short illness.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dena Rankin, Levelland, and Mrs. Norma Turner, Winnsboro; two sons, Chester Ham, Houston, and Woodrow Ham, Beeville; 13 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.
Three sons, Fred Ham, Joe Ham and Hubert Ham preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ham was born January 16, 1888, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, to Vester M. and Linnie Abigail Carnes Stepp. On May 6, 1903, she married Meredith Clinton Ham, who died April 17, 1954.
She was a resident of Whispering Pines Nursing Home and has made her home at 629 West Broadway Street. She has lived in Winnsboro for 30 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers were Ike Kennemer, Homer Browning, Adrian Crow, Hardy Hamm, Claud Winkle and John A. Holley."
