MRS. IDA BURRELL, PROMINENT MATRON OF SALLIS, DIES. Heart Attack fatal While Teaching Class at Baptist Church. Mrs. Ida Burrell, 68, prominent matron of Attala county, died of a heart attack Jan. 16. An active member of the Baptist church, her death occurred while teaching her Sunday school class at the Sallis Baptist church. She was 68.
Mrs. Burrell was prominent in church, social and community organizations and was outstanding in her work with county, state and farm club organizations.
Funeral services were held in the Sallis Baptist church, Monday with the Rev. Rowe C. Holcomb, pastor of Kosciusko's First Baptist church and Rev. Farve, of Sallis, in charge. Southern Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Bill Smith, Smith Hughes, Clayton Hughes, Henry Love Dodd, Dallas Morgan and Dave Ed Hughes.
She leaves her husband, C. F. Burrell of Sallis, five daughters, Mrs. Lennie May Harris, Mrs. Myrtis Brooks, Mrs. Hilda Aldy, Mrs. Eddie Lee Cain, all of Durant, and Mrs. Rufus Robertson, of Natchez; a son, C. E. Burrell, Natchez; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Leslie, of Durant, and Mrs. J. V. Norwood of Kosciusko; four brothers, C. L. Carnes and E. L. Carnes of Kosciusko; W. R. Carnes, Clarksdale, and J. C. Carnes of Eldorado, Kansas.
