      Eric Larkin Turner, 93, a retired employee for the Vocational Technical Division of the Mississippi State Department of Education died Saturday January 20, 2001, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Visitation is at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with burial at 1 p.m. in French Camp Cemetery in Choctaw County.

     Mr. Turner was a member of Riverside Independent Methodist Church and a lifetime Mason. He was a member of the Jackson Camellia Society, and the Daylily Club of Mississippi and the Primos/Hemphill Coffee Club. He was born in Attala County and went to school at French Camp Academy. He was a graduate of East Mississippi Junior College and Mississippi State University. He had lived in Jackson for 50 years.

     Survivors include: wife, Marjorie Bullard Turner of Jackson; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Grogan of Canton; two sisters, Mrs. Vivian Tyler of Kosciusko and Mrs. Ila Barbee of Charlotte, NC ; two grandchildren, Mr. Nolen Grogan of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Allison Crews of Canton; two great grandchildren, Jake Crews and Turner Crews; and a large family of nieces and nephews.

     Pall bearers will be nephews and great nephews: Lex Taylor, John Taylor Paschal, and Jerry Donald of Louisville, James Allen Tyler of Kosciusko, Bobby Scarborough of Hollandale and Mike Vincent of Carthage.

     Memorials may be made to French Camp Academy.
