Location: T14N-R6E-S16
Abandoned cemetery. In this section of Township 14N & RRange 6E there are four separate graveyards, located along the ridge trail that leads north from the old Durant Road, about 3/4 of a mile west of Youth Center Lake Road. Listing them in order from the Old Durant Road they are: Boyette-England-Morgan Cemetery, Moorhead Cemetery, Dodd- Steed Cemetery, Campbell-Dodd Cemetery. Leave the Campbell-Dodd cemetery continuing up the hill about 1/4 mile to the very top and you will find this cemetery located on south side of the hill, whereas the other is on the north side of the hill. It is reported that a church formerly stood about half way between these two cemeteries but no evidence could be found of this church. Deed: W.W.Jenkins to J.S.Steed & C.F.Hughes, Trustees; 19 July 1902 Bk.4 pg.157; one acre off west and near center of west line of SE/4 of NW/4 in Township 14,Range 6,Section 16. Deed: Ed Gamblin to J.S.Steed & C.F.Hughes, Trustees; 18 Aug 1902, Bk.4,pg.157; 1 1/2 acres off east end and near center of east line of SE/4 of NW/4 of Township 14,Range 6,Section 16. Both of the above deeds are "for graveyard purposes for white people," and state the land "is now being used for burial purposes and is known as the Morgan graveyard."
