Thompson Rites at Stonewall. Services for Mrs. Bettie Stepp Thompson, 84, of Greenville, were held Sunday, July 19 at 4 p.m. at Stonewall Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson was a native of Attala County and had been a resident of Greenville for the past 10 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenville. She was the widow of Tom B. Thompson.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Rhodes of Greenville; five sons: Ephraim Thompson of Camden, Ark., Ellis Thompson of Columbus, Jessie Thompson of Amory, T. B. Thompson of Kosciusko and Randall Thompson of Ethel; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Irby of Crane, Texas, Mrs. Meta Ham of Winnsboro, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.
The Rev. Perry Claxton and the Rev. Billy William officiated.
Pallbearers were Charles T. Thompson, Clennis O. Thompson, Harry J. Lockett, Bryce Nabors, Herman Lindsey, Ellie Hugh Vance, with 15 honorary pallbearers named.
