Attala County, Mississippi



Location: T16N-R8E-S23
Located in the northeastern part of the county near the Attala-Choctaw county line within a couple of miles of French Camp. To reach go up the Natchez Trace Parkway and just across the parkway from the Bethel Mission marker you can see the church and cemetery. The cemetery is in good condition but it is not fenced. The church is a white frame building in good condition. According to county history, it was here that Andrew Jackson camped on his way back to Tennessee with his troops after the Battle of New Orleans, and he and his men dug the well that is located south of the cemetery.
